The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has voiced strong opposition to the recent re-arrest of businessman Hanan Abdul-Wahab and his wife.
The NPP described the actions by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) as political harassment.
This development occurred shortly after the Attorney-General had withdrawn charges against Mr. Abdul-Wahab and his wife.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye called the re-arrest an act of state-sponsored bullying.
He further labelled it as ruthless political intimidation by the government.
The party demands the immediate release of the couple.
The NPP insists that EOCO is being used for political ends.
This situation raises concerns about due process and potential abuse of power.
