The Tema High Court has ordered evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, to pay GH¢100,000 in damages to gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye in a defamation matter that has been settled out of court.
The order was made by the Tema High Court, Court “A”, presided over by Justice Janet Marfo, after both parties agreed to resolve the dispute without proceeding to a full trial.
The case began in May 2025 when Empress Gifty filed a GH¢20 million defamation suit against Nana Agradaa. The gospel musician alleged that the evangelist had made slanderous and libellous statements about her, which she said damaged her reputation and standing in the public space.
Under the terms of the settlement endorsed by the court, Nana Agradaa is required to pay GH¢100,000 as damages. In addition to the monetary compensation, the court directed her to publicly retract all allegations made against Empress Gifty and to issue a formal apology.
The settlement brings closure to the legal dispute between the two public figures. Details of the specific statements complained of were not revisited in open court, as the matter was resolved by mutual agreement.
Reporting on the outcome, Adom News journalist Mike Two said the agreement effectively ends the case, with both parties bound by the court’s orders.
Neither Nana Agradaa nor Empress Gifty made public comments in court following the ruling. With the settlement recorded, no further proceedings are expected unless there is a breach of the agreed terms.
