Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has commented on recent xenophobic attacks.
He stated that the people currently carrying out these attacks need to learn from history.
Ablakwa emphasized that the freedom South Africans enjoy today was partly secured with the help of other African countries.
He suggested that this historical context is often overlooked by those involved in the attacks.
The MP made these remarks in relation to ongoing incidents of violence against foreigners.
