The Minority Caucus in Parliament is demanding the arrest of individuals who unlawfully closed down the National Health Insurance Authority NHIA office in Ejisu, Ashanti Region.
Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, who is the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Health Committee, spoke out against the protest at a press conference. He described the action as a serious attack on a vital public service.
The Minority Caucus stated that such protests are nonsensical and must stop immediately. They believe the actions create unnecessary disruption to essential services.
They called for swift police action to identify and apprehend all persons involved in the incident.
The group stressed the importance of maintaining order and unimpeded access to public institutions like the NHIA.
They also highlighted that these actions undermine the smooth operation of government services meant to assist citizens.
The Minority Caucus vowed to follow up on the matter until those responsible are brought to justice.
They urged the youth involved to reconsider their approach to addressing grievances.
