Lawmakers in Parliament have expressed anger over the unlawful closure of the National Health Insurance Authority office in Ejisu, Ashanti Region.

The incident involves youth members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ranking Member for Parliament’s Health Committee, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, called the protest a 'nonsense protest'.

He stated this action is a direct attack on the services provided by the NHIA to the public.

Dr. Afriyie urged for the swift arrest of all individuals involved in the disruption.

He highlighted that such acts prevent citizens from accessing important health insurance services.

The Minority Caucus emphasized the need for law and order to be upheld.

They want to ensure that public service institutions can operate without fear of disruption.
