The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called for the arrest of people who closed the National Health Insurance Authority office in Ejisu. This happened in the Ashanti Region.
Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, who leads the Health Committee for the Minority, spoke out against the action. He described it as a direct attack on the work of the National Health Insurance Authority.
He said this type of protest must stop. The action is seen as an attack on public service delivery.
The National Health Insurance Authority provides health insurance to many Ghanaians. Closing its offices disrupts access to these services.
The Minority believes those responsible for shutting down the office should be brought to justice.
They are urging police to investigate and apprehend the individuals involved in the unlawful closure.
