The Minority in Parliament is asking for stronger security at sea. They also want more protection for Ghanaians living and working in other countries.
This concern was raised in a statement released on Ghana's Independence Day, March 6.
The group highlighted worries about recent attacks. These attacks reportedly happened to Ghanaian fishing boats within the country's own waters.
They also mentioned issues faced by Ghanaian citizens working in the Gulf region, calling for better support.
The caucus stated that these issues need urgent attention to ensure the safety and well-being of Ghanaians both on land and at sea.
They are urging the government to take swift action to improve maritime patrols and provide necessary assistance for citizens abroad.
