The Mamprugu Youth Association has formally requested intervention from top security and human rights officials. They are calling on the Inspector General of Police, the Regional Security Council, and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice.

The group wants these authorities to address the ongoing conflict in the Binduri and Bawku areas. This conflict has led to significant destruction and displacement of people.

Violence first spread to Binduri from Bawku in 2021. Since then, houses have been burned down. Families have been forced to leave their homes.

Communities such as Gumyoko have become deserted. Residents are afraid to return due to the constant threat of attacks.

The association stated that the situation requires urgent attention from national bodies. They believe intervention is necessary to restore peace and safety.

The call highlights the severe impact of the prolonged conflict on civilian lives and property. It emphasizes the need for a coordinated response to de-escalate the situation.

Authorities have not yet publicly responded to the association's appeal for intervention.
