Mahama stated that independence offers freedom. However, this freedom comes with the duty of responsibility.
He called for a re-establishment of responsibility. This includes how Ghanaians conduct themselves nationally.
The call also focused on the management of Ghana's natural resources. Mahama stressed the need for better stewardship.
His remarks were made during an address to the nation on Friday, March 6.
