The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, has named a new research centre. It is called the Infrastructure Research Hub.
This hub is located within the university's Department of Planning. Its creation aims to advance knowledge in infrastructure development.
The facility has been named in honour of Francis Asenso-Boakye. He is the Member of Parliament for Bantama.
University officials stated the naming is a recognition of his significant contributions. These contributions are in the areas of development planning and infrastructure provision in Ghana.
The naming ceremony highlights the strong link between academia and practical development efforts.
