The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology recently opened a new research facility. It is focused on infrastructure studies. The university decided to name this hub in recognition of contributions made to development planning.
The facility is located within the Department of Planning at KNUST. It will be known as the Asenso-Boakye Infrastructure Research Hub. This naming honors Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama.
University officials stated that the decision reflects Mr Asenso-Boakye's impact on infrastructure provision in Ghana. His work in development planning was also highlighted as a key factor.
The Infrastructure Research Hub aims to advance research in building and development. It is expected to play a role in improving infrastructure across Ghana.
