The Institute for Energy Security has urged the government to suspend the Price Stabilisation and Recovery Levy. Global oil prices are rising, making fuel more expensive for consumers.
IES believes removing this levy will help ease the financial pressure on Ghanaians. The levy is meant to help stabilize fuel prices.
However, with international prices increasing sharply, the levy adds to the cost at the pump. This call comes as the public faces higher transportation and living expenses.
The Institute has stated that the current global market conditions warrant a review of the levy's application.
