Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, has been removed from his job. Members of the court voted to dismiss him.

The decision came after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him. Khan was elected as the court's third prosecutor in 2021.

He was suspended from his duties last month. The court's oversight body found in June that he had committed misconduct.

The vote to remove him saw 82 members in favour of the dismissal. This action marks a significant event for the International Criminal Court.
