The government is willing to pay for a victim of the military recruitment stampede to receive medical treatment overseas. This plan depends on the recommendation of medical specialists.

Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, informed Parliament about the situation. He spoke on Monday, March 9.

The patient, Sandra Baafi Boateng, suffered injuries during the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise.

She was hurt when a crowd at the venue became involved in a stampede.

The Minister provided an update on Ms. Baafi Boateng’s condition to the Parliament.

He confirmed the government’s readiness to cover all expenses related to her overseas medical care.

This measure will only be taken if Ghanaian medical experts determine it is the best course of action for her recovery.
