The government is prepared to send a Ghana Armed Forces recruitment stampede victim abroad for medical treatment if needed. Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh made this statement in Parliament. He updated lawmakers on the condition of Sandra Baafi Boateng.
Boateng was injured during a stampede at a recruitment event. The Minister assured that her health is a priority for the government.
He explained that doctors are currently treating Boateng. Their medical advice will determine if she needs to be sent overseas for specialised care.
The Minister indicated that if medical experts recommend foreign treatment, the government will act swiftly to facilitate it. This includes arranging travel and ensuring she receives the best possible medical attention.
The government's commitment aims to provide the necessary resources for her recovery. This situation arose from a public recruitment exercise that ended in tragedy.
