Four Ghanaian soldiers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon UNIFIL were injured recently. They were hurt when their base was attacked.

Deputy Minister of Defence Brogya Genfi confirmed the incident. He stated that the four soldiers suffered minor injuries.

These soldiers are stable and are recovering well. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

One soldier sustained more serious injuries. This included damage to both legs and the hip.

This soldier was moved to Beirut. A Named official said the soldier underwent surgery there.

The surgery was successful. The soldier is also reported to be stable.

The Ministry of Defence is keeping track of the situation. Further updates will be provided as needed.
