Seven Ghanaian tomato traders have returned to Ghana following a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso. The traders are all women who had travelled for business.

Burkinabe security officials safely escorted the women to the Ghanaian border town of Paga. The Upper East Regional Security Council officially received them upon their arrival.

Two other traders were critically injured during the attack. They have since been airlifted to Accra for urgent medical attention.

The survivors are now back with their families after the traumatic experience. Authorities did not provide details on the nature of their injuries.

The incident highlights the dangers faced by traders in the border region. The government is working to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad.
