Ghana has expressed strong disapproval of an attack that injured two of its soldiers in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred while the soldiers were on duty as peacekeepers.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed on March 7 that the government has formally protested to the United Nations.

The protest letter was addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. It calls for a thorough investigation into the attack.

The government is concerned about the safety and security of its personnel serving under the UN flag.

The two injured soldiers sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical attention.

Details regarding the circumstances of the attack are currently being gathered.
