Ghana is celebrating its 69th anniversary of independence on March 6, 2026. The main event is taking place at the Jubilee House forecourt.
This day marks the historic moment on March 6, 1957. Then Prime Minister Dr Kwame Nkrumah declared Ghana free from British rule.
The tradition of holding the celebration in different regions began in 2017. President Akufo-Addo announced this change, allowing each region to host the event annually.
