Ghana is observing its 69th Independence Day on March 6, 2026.
The main celebration is happening today at the forecourt of the Jubilee House.
This day honors the moment on March 6, 1957, when Prime Minister Dr Kwame Nkrumah announced Ghana's freedom from the United Kingdom.
President Akufo-Addo decided in 2017 that the anniversary celebrations would rotate annually among the country's regions.
