Twenty eight foreign nationals and a landlord have been arrested in Pakyi Numbers One and Two in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. The arrests followed a joint security operation.
The Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Police Service, and the Amansie West District Assembly conducted the operation. Their goal was to find foreigners living in the area without the correct paperwork.
Security personnel entered homes and buildings during the operation. They were looking for people who did not have the necessary legal documents to be in Ghana.
The landlord was arrested for allegedly accommodating these individuals. Authorities stated this was to ensure compliance with immigration laws.
Officials have not yet detailed the nationalities of the arrested foreign nationals. Further investigations are expected to determine the legal status of each individual.
This exercise is part of broader efforts to ensure that all residents in Ghana, including foreigners, are in the country legally. Officials emphasize the importance of valid documentation for all individuals residing within Ghana.
