Kenneth Ashigbey, the convenor for the Ghana Coalition Against Galamsey, has urged the African Union to take action regarding xenophobic attacks on Ghanaians in South Africa.

He stated the situation is deeply troubling for the entire continent.

Mr Ashigbey called for an urgent meeting of the African Union to condemn these attacks.

He believes the organization must address the safety and welfare of African citizens across borders.

The convenor emphasized the importance of continental solidarity in protecting all its people.
