The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested two people suspected of vandalizing the Awutu Oshimpo Chief’s palace. The incident involved the theft of valuable items and damage to property.

According to a Ghana Police Service statement, the suspects allegedly stole eight pieces of the chief’s clothing. They also removed and took several stools belonging to the chief.

The attackers are also accused of disabling the palace's security system. They reportedly removed and took away the CCTV cameras installed at the palace.

The police investigation indicates the attack occurred when a group, believed by some to be land guards, was involved in an altercation.

This action was reportedly carried out at a time when land disputes are a known concern in the area.

Authorities have confirmed that while two arrests have been made, several other individuals involved are still being sought.

The motive behind the vandalism and theft is currently under investigation by the Central East Regional Police Command.

Further details will be released as the investigation progresses, according to the Ghana Police Service.
