The Ghana Police Service has recovered over 100 tonnes of stolen Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) cables. The operation took place in Tema.
Ten suspects have been arrested in connection with the discovery. Police found the cables at a company location in Tema.
Officers also discovered approximately 70 workers actively involved in cutting and stripping the stolen cables. This indicated an ongoing operation.
The Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department was reportedly involved in the recovery effort. The police are continuing their work to address the theft of essential infrastructure.
