Police in the Eastern Region have broken up a gang that stole motorbikes. The arrests happened in Koforidua and surrounding towns.
Several people suspected of being part of the motorbike theft ring have been taken into custody. The Ghana Police Service has not yet named the suspects.
During the operation, police officers also managed to recover a number of motorbikes that had been stolen. The exact number of motorbikes recovered has not been released.
The Eastern Regional Police Command led the operation to dismantle the syndicate. The operation aimed to reduce motorbike thefts in the region.
