A man will spend two years in jail for stealing electricity cables.

The Koforidua Circuit Court handed down the sentence to the 32-year-old man. He was found guilty of stealing cables belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). The court ordered hard labour as part of his sentence.

The man was apprehended by residents of the community. They caught him while he was in the process of cutting the cables. The ECG reported the theft of the infrastructure.
