Professor Christian Agyare, the Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has called for a name change for the Ghana Prisons Service.
He suggested renaming it the Ghana Correctional Service.
Professor Agyare believes this new name would help the service gain more support.
He made these remarks while commending the Ashanti Regional Prisons Command for their efforts.
The proposal aims to enhance the public perception and potential for assistance to the correctional facilities.
