The Minority Caucus on Parliament’s Committee on Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions has expressed worry.
This concern is about prolonged delays in paying non-salary related allowances.
These allowances are due to officers of the Ghana Prisons Service.
In a statement issued on February 23, the Caucus referred to a communiqué.
The communiqué came from the Prisons Administration on February 17, 2026.
It confirmed that these arrears have not been paid.
The Ministry of Finance has been urged to release these funds.
The delay affects the welfare of the officers.
