They are worried about non-salary related allowance payments to Ghana Prisons Service officers. A statement on February 23 highlighted the issue.
The statement referenced a Prisons Administration communiqué from February 17, 2026. This communiqué confirmed the ongoing delays in payments.
The Minority said the situation is affecting officer morale. It is also impacting operations of the Ghana Prisons Service.
They called on the Finance Ministry to act quickly. The ministry should resolve the payment delays for the officers.
