A total of 21 people being held on remand have been granted bail. They were at the Tamale Central Prison.

This action was part of the Justice for All Programme. The program aims to help more people get justice and to make prisons less crowded.

The decision to grant bail came after a special court session was held right at the prison.

During this session, judges looked at 37 different applications from inmates seeking bail.

Out of these 37 applications, 21 individuals were successful and granted their freedom, pending further court proceedings.

This initiative by the Judicial Service helps ensure timely access to justice for those who are awaiting trial.

The Justice for All Programme regularly organises such sittings across the country.

Their goal is to speed up the legal process for remand prisoners who may have cases that could be resolved sooner.
