A timber merchant named Kwame Asare has accused police officers of demanding GH¢45,000 from him. The incident reportedly happened on the Offinso road.

Asare, who operates at Kwaadaso, stated that the officers stopped him while he was transporting timber.

He claims the police officers demanded the money before allowing him to continue his journey.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet released an official statement regarding these allegations.

Further investigation into the matter is expected.
