The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with a series of alleged robberies and gang rape incidents in Juaso in the Ashanti Region.

According to the Ghana Police Service, the arrests were made on January 8, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation targeting a group believed to have been operating in and around the Juaso area.

Police identified the suspects as David Adusah, also known as Vibes; Samuel Amantor, also known as Road; Andrew Odei, also known as Salinco; Sharif Mohammed, also known as Isco; Joseph Addo, also known as Moves; and Chidi Arinze, also known as Orga Happiness.

Searches conducted at the residences of the suspects led to the retrieval of several items, including forty-nine mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, a green dress resembling a military uniform, and a photograph allegedly showing the leader of the group dressed in military-style camouflage. Police also impounded a Toyota RAV4 vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects during their operations.

According to police, the suspects admitted involvement in the reported cases during interrogation. Police have not disclosed the details of the alleged offences or the identities of any victims, citing the ongoing nature of investigations and the need to protect victims.

On January 12, 2026, the suspects were arraigned before a court and remanded into lawful custody. They are expected to reappear on January 28, 2026, to allow police to complete investigations.

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command said investigations are still ongoing and that additional arrests are possible. Police stressed that all allegations remain subject to investigation and that the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
