The Northern Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has introduced a new anti-crime team. This team is named Red Maria.
The purpose of the Red Maria taskforce is to fight crime more effectively. It will work in Tamale and the areas around it.
Northern Regional Commander DCOP Wisdom Lavoe announced the new initiative. He stated that the taskforce comes after concerns about rising criminal activity.
