Police in the Northern Region have started a special team to fight crime. This team is called the "Red Maria" taskforce.
The taskforce's main job is to make Tamale and nearby places safer. This is to help stop criminals.
The Northern Regional Commander, DCOP Wisdom Lavoe, announced the new team. He said it is to help tackle growing worries about crime.
