The Ghana Police Service in the Northern Region has started a new anti-crime group. This group is known as the Red Maria taskforce.
The taskforce’s main job is to increase efforts to stop crime in the region. It will focus on areas like Tamale and its nearby towns. This action comes after concerns about safety were raised.
DCOP Wisdom Lavoe, the Northern Regional Commander, announced the launch. He stated the goal is to improve security for everyone in the region.
