Members of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command conducted an intelligence operation that led to the arrest of four individuals suspected of planning a robbery within the Kasoa municipality. According to a Ghana News Agency report the operation was initiated after police received a tip off about the group activities in the area.
During the intervention officers recovered various items from the suspects including face masks and live ammunition. A statement from the Ghana Police Service indicated that the tactical team intercepted the group before they could carry out any criminal acts against residents or local businesses.
While the Ghana News Agency reports the recovery of specific tactical gear the identities of the four suspects have not yet been officially released to the public. Local news outlet Citi Newsroom noted that the police have increased patrols in the Kasoa area to deter similar criminal activities during the current period.
The four suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue into their potential links to other unsolved crimes in the region. The Ghana Police Service has urged members of the public to continue providing timely information to assist in crime prevention efforts across the Central Region.
