The Narcotics Control Commission, NACOC, can only work in 66 districts across Ghana. This is much less than the total number of 261 districts in the country
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak explained that NACOC faces challenges. They do not have enough staff. They also lack necessary equipment to operate everywhere.
The Minister spoke to Parliament's Public Assurance Committee about these issues. He stated that the government has a plan to fix this problem.
The government intends to make NACOC work in all districts in Ghana. This expansion is planned for the next five to six years. This will allow NACOC to cover the entire country.
