Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has instructed the Inspector-General of Police to take immediate action against illegal private security forces. These groups are operating without proper authorization.

The Minister described the formation of such forces as illegal. He emphasized that they have no place within Ghana's established security framework.

The directive was given during a Police Regional Command Conference. The Minister stressed the need for strict adherence to legal security protocols.

Unauthorized private security operations undermine national security structures. The Ghana Police Service is expected to enforce the law against these groups.

This action aims to ensure that only officially sanctioned security agencies operate within the country.
