Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, want police officers who have served in the area for extended periods to be transferred. They believe new officers could bring fresh perspectives to tackling crime.
Frank Kofi Adusei, who leads the Omanbotantim Association, stated that some police officers have remained in Kenyasi for more than three years.
He expressed concern that this prolonged presence might reduce their efficiency in responding to the community's evolving security needs.
Mr. Adusei suggested that replacing these officers could help invigorate law enforcement efforts against a backdrop of increasing criminal activity.
The call comes as residents observe a rise in criminal incidents within Kenyasi.
The community groups hope the transfer of officers will lead to a more proactive and effective approach to crime prevention and public safety.
A spokesperson for the Ghana Police Service has acknowledged the concerns raised by the CSOs.
Discussions are reportedly underway regarding potential personnel changes within the Kenyasi police command.
