Community groups in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, want police officers who have stayed in the area for too long to be transferred. They believe new officers could better handle the rise in crime.

Frank Kofi Adusei, chairman of the Omanbotantim Association, said some officers have been stationed in Kenyasi for an extended period. This has affected their ability to respond effectively to local criminal activities.

The groups argue that a rotation of police personnel is necessary. This is to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to law enforcement efforts in the community.

They hope the transfer will lead to improved security and a reduction in criminal incidents.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet commented on the request.
