The Inspector-General of Police has summoned the Volta Regional Police Commander. This action is due to concerns about alleged mistreatment of local traders.

Reports indicate that some police officers on the Aflao to Accra main road have been involved in harassment and intimidation. Traders also allege unnecessary delays and extortion of money.

Following the IGP's summons, the Volta Regional Commander has called a meeting. This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, with all Divisional and District Commanders.

The purpose of this meeting is to address the allegations and discuss measures to prevent future occurrences.
