A civil organisation has called for an end to application fees for joining Ghana's security services. The Center for Public Opinion and Awareness issued a statement asking the government to remove these charges.

CenPOA believes that charging money to apply for jobs in agencies such as the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Fire Service limits opportunities for many citizens. The group said this practice has existed for many years.

The organisation feels that these fees can prevent qualified individuals from applying. They want to ensure that everyone who is eligible has a fair chance to join these important public institutions.

CenPOA stated that removing the fees would be a positive step towards making recruitment more accessible. This aims to attract a wider pool of talent to serve in security roles across the country.
