The Ashanti Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four individuals suspected to be involved in a robbery incident that occurred at Kunsu in the Ashanti Region on December 7, 2025.
According to a press release issued by the Police Public Affairs Unit in Kumasi on January 28, 2026, the arrests took place on January 21, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m. The operation was a collaborative effort between personnel from the Regional Anti-Robbery Unit in Kumasi and officers from the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Directorate at Police Headquarters in Accra.
The suspects have been identified by the Police as Yahaya Siedu, also known as Diamond, aged 34; Atta Israel, also known as Abode3 or Stone, aged 32; Victor Gyan, also known as City Boy, aged 26; and Stanley Wiafe Akanten, also known as Figo, aged 30.
Preliminary investigations suggest that these four men are suspected members of a criminal syndicate believed to be responsible for a series of robbery attacks in Kunsu and its surrounding communities. Police reports indicate that the group allegedly targeted miners and other residents, stealing cash, gold concentrate, and various personal valuables.
A search conducted in the room of Yahaya Siedu led to the recovery of significant items, including two pump-action guns, three cutlasses, five mobile phones, twenty-two BB cartridges, and an amount of GH¢5,400. Notably, one of the firearms, identified as a Pardus shotgun, has been confirmed to have been stolen during the December 7 robbery along the Kunsu–Mankranso road.
