Traders in Bolgatanga marched on Saturday, July 18. They want the police to keep a special unit called the Black Maria in their area.
This unit is officially known as the Special Operations Team. The traders believe its presence is important for their safety.
They walked through parts of the town. Afterwards, they gave a formal petition to the authorities.
The petition clearly stated their desire for the Black Maria unit to remain stationed in the Upper East Region.
The traders expressed their views peacefully during the demonstration.
