Two individuals have been arrested by the Amasaman Divisional Police. The arrests were made on suspicion of operating illegal mining sites.

The alleged illegal mining activities took place within a catchment area belonging to the Ghana Water Company Limited. This area is located in Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

The arrested men have been identified as Emmanuel Kyei and Kwabena Ofori. They face charges related to illegal mining operations.

Police stated that the sites were operating without authorization. This poses a risk to the water supply infrastructure.
