The Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrest of six individuals following a violent confrontation between rival land guard groups in Kasoa. According to reports from MyJoyOnline and Citi Newsroom, the clash occurred due to a dispute over land ownership which escalated into physical violence. Two local residents sustained injuries during the fracas and were subsequently taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Police officials stated that officers arrived at the scene to restore order and prevent further casualties. During the operation, security personnel retrieved a locally manufactured pistol among other weapons. A report by Pulse Ghana indicates that the suspects are currently assisting the Central Regional Police Command with ongoing investigations into the root cause of the violence.

The identities of the six suspects have not been officially released to the public. However, the Ghana Police Service through its official social media channels reiterated its commitment to curbing land guard activities in the region. The authorities stated that the suspects remain in custody while formal charges are being processed for their first appearance in court.

Residents of Kasoa expressed concern over the recurring nature of land guard disputes in the area. While MyJoyOnline attributed the violence to specific rival factions, the police have yet to name the organizations involved. All six individuals are entitled to the presumption of innocence until a competent court of law determines their guilt regarding the alleged offences.
