Police in Odumase-Krobo have arrested three suspects found with more than one million US dollars in fake currency. The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The arrests followed intelligence led operations by the Odumase-Krobo Police Command. The team was led by Detective Corporal Williams Asante.
During the arrest, the suspects attempted to bribe the police officers. They offered GH¢200,000 to the officers.
The police rejected the bribe money. They proceeded with the arrest of the suspects.
The Eastern Regional Police command confirmed the incident. They stated that the operation was successful in foiling the counterfeit currency syndicate.
The fake US dollar bills were seized by the police. The amount is reported to be over one million dollars.
The arrested individuals are currently in police custody. Investigations into the syndicate's operations are ongoing.
