Police have seized more than one million US dollars in fake currency in Odumase-Krobo. Three people have been arrested in connection with the counterfeit money.
The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This followed an intelligence-led operation by the Odumase-Krobo Police Command. Detective Corporal Williams Asante led the operation.
During the arrest, the suspects offered the police GH¢200,000 as a bribe. The officers rejected the bribe. This action demonstrates the police's commitment to upholding the law.
The Eastern Regional Police command provided details about the successful operation. The arrests prevented a large amount of fake money from entering circulation.
The investigation into the counterfeit currency syndicate is ongoing. Authorities are working to identify all members of the group. The fake currency will be secured as evidence.
