The Ghana Police Service confirmed through an official statement that its tactical units disrupted an organized robbery syndicate in the Ashanti Region. The incident occurred on the Kumasi-Ejisu highway following what authorities described as a botched bank raid. Officers intercepted the suspects as they attempted to flee the scene within the Ejisu municipality.

According to a report from Citi Newsroom the operation involved a high-speed pursuit that ended when the suspects engaged the police. The Ghana Police Service statement noted that three members of the suspected gang were neutralized during the exchange. Medical personnel later confirmed the deaths of the suspects at a local facility though their identities have not been officially released to the public.

A MyJoyOnline report indicated that the police recovered several items from the scene including firearms and ammunition. Officers also impounded a vehicle used by the suspects during the alleged robbery attempt. The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation to determine if these individuals were linked to other unsolved robberies in the Kumasi metropolis.

The Ghana Police Service emphasized that this operation is part of a broader strategy to combat violent crime and property crime in the region. While official sources claim the gang was part of a larger syndicate the specific bank targeted has not been named in the primary police briefing. Investigations continue as authorities work to identify any remaining accomplices who may be at large within the Ashanti Region.
