Police officers in the Ashanti Region have arrested two Chinese individuals. They are accused of conducting illegal mining on land belonging to a Ghanaian company.

The arrests were made during an operation aimed at stopping illegal mining, often called galamsey. This operation took place recently in the region.

Authorities stated the suspects were found mining on a concession owned by a local business.

An investigation has been started by the police. They want to find out how extensive the illegal mining activities were.
